sister #2: the other night, mom calls me and she is talking and talking and talking. so i put her on mute and watch tv.

then mom says, “are you listening?”

sister #2: yea.

sister #2: i said to myself, “why am i going to get annoyed? i watch tv and put you on mute……

phone call to mady:

daughter: how are you feeling?

mother (mady) i need an ipad

daughter: for what? you are 2 feet from your tv on the couch. you need an ipad to watch tv 2 feet from the couch?

mother (mady) i need it when we drive to the country and when i go to doctors’ (plural) offices

daughter:  oh, do you think about putting the ipad money into fixing up your house (grey gardens).

mother (mady) well, yes, i have thought of that.

“she is following brigit around all day…” text from sister when asked where our mother is

“tell them that hoarders are not allowed to go to garage sales.” text to stepsister.

lots of flooding and trees down near the water…..

“you have no idea what I am going through, I am driving around to garage sales and the 2 crazies, (mady and her partner frank) insist on following me around…” text from stepsister

about hurricane that postponed madys back surgery for a few days:

“irene, and they r saying its big. Already talking about evacuating the south shore.”

mady had back surgery a few weeks  back….. she is back to her civic duties on the ambulance, volunteering for the fire department, keeping up with her netflix queque, and seeing her (step) grandchildren….

from the little sister to the big sister:

Can you believe my life??? I am living in my old bedroom on a pull out couch.  I missed my old room, but so different from when we were kids. 

I have to say, it’s like a vacation.  They are cooking for me and she pulled out my bed.  So tonight she is cooking me chicken and spinach and then watching dancing with the stars.  Be jealous, that you don’t have this!!!!! 

First off, she told me that on Sunday…And of course like Rain Man she goes “I figured I try”, I figured I try.  “I used to skate all my life.”  I didn’t know our mother was an Olympic gold medialist like Michelle Kwon.  Next she will want to be on Dancing with the Stars.

i just heard from aunt sue that mady was ice skating with robbie and michael this past weekend, probably with the ice skates that have been in the basement for the past 35 years.
how she got the knots out of the laces, god only knows.
she is going to break a hip.
aunt sue says she could barely get one foot in front of the other.
i thought she probably had the skate on the wrong foot.
apparently not.
maybe she rented the skates.
maybe she was so jacked up on painkillers, she just got out there and skated………..

aurelia thinks with our accents (what accents?) we should do this as a podcast, and of course, we get mady and her accent in on it…..
